Is Ella 101 up?

Last updated by hand on · site version 1.1.2. This page is written and checked by a person, not generated by a monitoring robot — during the beta, that is the honest way to do it.

The short version: if this website loaded, the site is up. If the app misbehaves for you right now, that report is more current than anything written here — email support@ella101.com and it goes straight to the person who can fix it.

What's running, as of the last check

These states describe the last manual check, not this exact second. There are no live green dots on this page because live dots would be a promise of round-the-clock automated monitoring — and we don't have that yet. What we have is a founder who checks the product every day and answers email fast.

What "operational" means during a beta

A beta is software that works and is still being finished — both things are true at once. So the words on this page mean exactly this:

Up
The site loads and the app teaches. Lessons run, Ella speaks, the account holder view shows your student's real sessions.
Wobbly
Working, but something is off — a voice that takes longer to answer, a page that needs a reload, a feature that behaves oddly on one device. Most beta problems live here, and your reports are how they get found.
Down for an update
The app is restarting because a new version just shipped. Usually minutes, not hours. The student's progress is saved before restarts, so a lesson picks up where it left off.

What "operational" does not mean during the beta: a guaranteed uptime percentage. We don't publish one because we haven't measured one — the terms say the same thing in lawyer words.

How the checking works today

Checks are manual during the beta. The founder uses the product daily and looks at the same screens beta families see. There is no automated status feed behind this page yet — and we would rather tell you that plainly than decorate the page with dots that don't watch anything.

An outside monitoring service — one that pings the site around the clock and raises the alarm on its own — is on the build list, but it isn't switched on yet. When it is, this page will say so, and the checking story here will change from "by hand" to "by hand plus a robot that never sleeps."

Planned maintenance

During the beta, updates ship often and maintenance is woven into daily work rather than scheduled months ahead. Here's how it's handled:

Where to report a problem

Reports don't go into a void — Ella 101 is built and run by one person, and reports go straight to him:

What version is this?

The site you're reading is version 1.1.2. Every user-visible change is written up in plain words on the what's new page, newest first — that page is the running record of what shipped and when.

Seeing something this page doesn't reflect? That's exactly the report we want: support@ella101.com — it goes straight to the builder.
