Terms of use
Ella 101 beta · this static page mirrors the terms shown inside the app. If the two ever differ, the version inside the app is the one that binds your account.
1. What Ella 101 is
Ella 101 is a one-on-one AI teaching service for students of every age, operated by its founder (“we”, “the operator”). You reach it by logging in from a browser; contact is support@ella101.com.
2. Beta software, provided as-is
Ella 101 is in beta. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind — express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It may change, break, lose availability, or be reset while we build it. We work fast on reported problems, but we can’t promise uptime or that any feature stays exactly as it is today.
3. Accounts and who may use it
- Accounts are created and held by an adult account holder, who is responsible for the account and, when the student is a minor, for supervising their use of it.
- Children use Ella under their parent’s account and direction. Registration requires the parent’s explicit consent to the data practices described in the Privacy notes.
- Keep your password to yourself; tell us if you think your account was accessed by someone else.
4. The beta, promo codes, and price
- Access during the beta is by invite promo code and is free.
- Payments are disabled in the software during the beta. There is no card form and no charge of any kind, and nothing converts to a paid plan automatically.
- The planned price after the beta is $250 per month per student. If and when paid plans launch, you would be charged only after you explicitly sign up for one.
- Promo codes are personal invitations; we may decline, disable, or limit codes to keep the beta small.
5. Acceptable use
- Ella 101 is for your own family’s personal, non-commercial learning.
- Upload only content you own or have the right to use (your books, PDFs, comics). You keep ownership of what you upload; we store it solely to provide the service to you.
- Don’t abuse the service: no attempts to break other families’ accounts, scrape or resell the service, or use it to generate harmful content.
6. Education disclaimer
Ella 101 is a teaching tool, not an accredited school. It doesn’t issue diplomas, transcripts, or credits, and it doesn’t replace the account holder’s responsibility for the student’s education. Ella’s explanations are generated by an AI model and can contain mistakes; the app surfaces corrections to the account holder (the “honesty ledger”), and the account holder remains the final judge of the student’s education.
7. Ending things, and deletion
- You can stop using Ella 101 at any time and ask for your account and its data to be deleted by emailing support@ella101.com.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or endanger the service or other users.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, the operator isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of beta software. During the free beta, total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service — which is zero.
9. Changes
These terms will evolve with the beta. Material changes are posted here and inside the app; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
